TP5000 IC Li-ion / LiFePO4 Battery Charge Management IC – QFN16

The TP5000 IC is a switching buck charge management IC designed for single manganese lithium (Li-ion) and LiFePO4 batteries. It comes in an ultra-compact QFN16 package (4mm × 4mm) and supports high-current portable applications with a simple peripheral circuit.

The TP5000 IC integrates multiple protection features including input overcurrent, undervoltage, overtemperature, short-circuit, battery temperature monitoring, and reverse battery protection. Its wide input voltage range allows staged charging: trickle pre-charge, constant current, and constant voltage, with programmable charging currents up to 2A.

With an 800 kHz switching frequency, the TP5000 minimizes heat generation and allows smaller external components. The IC also includes a built-in power MOSFET and anti-intrusion circuitry, eliminating the need for external Schottky diodes. It can also drive 0.5–7W white LEDs in constant current mode.
